Motivation
As students, it can be difficult to muster the motivation necessary to complete various tasks that we have. Having the necessary motivation to accomplish your goals can have important benefits to your efficacy. Being motivated can help you key in on the process of learning rather than simply having to go through the rote actions of reading and practicing.

According to the Expectancy Theory, motivation is determined by three main factors: expectancy, instrumentality, and valence. Expectancy questions whether one's efforts will lead to the necessary performance level. Instrumentality questions whether the performance level will lead to desired outcomes. Finally, valence questions whether the outcomes are truly desired. In order to ensure maximum motivation, all three of these factors must exist at high levels.
The content provided on this page is designed to give you the extra push that you need to conquer your goals and to ensure that expectancy, instrumentality, and valence are all at high levels before you embark on your tasks.
